Holocaust Memorial Day was marked around the country and across the world last week

UK commemorations began on Monday at King’s Cross, where a candle was lit by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, Holocaust survivors Ben Helfgott and Sabina Miller, and Eric Murangwa, survivor of the Genocide in Rwanda.

Survivors joined politicians and dignitaries at a national commemorative event in the afternoon, which featured a key-note address by Ed Miliband.

Holocaust Memorial Day remembers the millions killed in the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. This year is the 20th anniversary of the Genocide in Rwanda.

Amazon has been working with the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust to raise awareness of Holocaust Memorial Day, with media coverage running in the nationals (Guardian, Mail, Independent, Telegraph, BBC News, Jewish Chronicle, Yahoo, Huffington Post) and across the regions (in print, broadcast and online media).
